SICES INSTITUTE OF HEALTHCARE AND VOCATIONAL STUDIES INC. is the FIRST CAREGIVING SCHOOL IN THE PHILIPPINES to offer the CAREGIVING NC II Course in 1992. The course is a full time 6-month training program and is designed based on the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) Training Regulations and Competency Standards in order for graduates to be able to gain essential knowledge and skills and other relevant competencies in Caregiving in order for them to be effective in their job in providing the best quality of care and services as a Home Child Care Provider, Home Support Worker, Caring for People with High Medical Needs as well as Caring for People with Special Needs to both local and overseas employment in a private household or institution.


The CAREGIVING NC II Qualification consists of competencies that a person must achieve. Upon completion of the program, the students will be competent in the following areas of Competencies TO:

  • Provide care and support to infants/toddlers.
  • Provide care and support to children.
  • Foster social, intellectual, creative and emotional development of children.
  • Foster the physical development of children.
  • Provide care and support to elderly.
  • Provide care and support to people with special needs.
  • Maintain healthy and safe environment
  • Respond to emergencies.
  • Clean living room, dining room, bedrooms, toilet and bathroom.
  • Wash and iron clothes, linen, fabric.
  • Prepare hot and cold meals.

To attain the National Qualification of Caregiving NC II, graduates must undergo a MANDATORY ASSESSMENT for them to demonstrate competence through project-type assessment to both knowledge and skills covering all units of competencies. Successful graduates who PASSED the said assessment shall be awarded a National Certificate signed by the TESDA Director General.
